Feature Request - eGift Cards for online service bookings / appointments

Hi.

How may eCard be redeemed for Service bookings/appointment?

I could not see any where on the payment page for accepting a card number.

At the moment you can accept eGift cards if you process the payment via the Appointments app, however your customers won't currently be able to use an eGift card to book an appointment online through your Appointments website.

 

I can see the value of having this feature available though! I'll pass your feedback on to our product team for consideration and we'll track requests for this feature via this post moving forward.

I’d also very much like to see this happen - I just spent twenty minutes on the phone with a rather confused client today who was trying to use a gift card when booking, only to discover it couldn’t be done! This is very important for me as some of my business is conducted completely online and certain clients are unable to use gift cards without this feature.

I'm plussing one on this feature.

 

I was really surprised to find out that customers cannot use their gift cards to pay for online booking. It's not a good look for my customers that they buy a gift card and then it's not easy to use it.

 

I also use gift cards as a way of multi-buy promotions (pay for 10, get 11) (Like class packs) and also for referral schemes. I like Square and think they've done a great job on the platform and website but this is a big omission in my opinion.

Hi   OH MY !!    I sold eGift cards for clients wanting to book appointments in 2022 for their kids and now they have paid for them I am unable to clear balances on the eGift cards. This is terrible and I was promoting the eGift card online with the belief that I could then make bookings using the credit and CLEAR or change the balance of the eGift card manually as and when they booked appointments through me on the phone.  I have to take bookings on the phone because I am a mobile business .  I have other eGifts that will need the same functionality by me when other appointments are booked in over the phone with me soon ...... 
PLEASE PLEASE someone help me and show me how I can clear balances on clients eGift cards when they have utilised the credit on them with appointments.  I have tried to clear the balance of one egift card today that has been used with NO SUCCESS ?? 

HELP please I need to clear the balance manually so that it no longer shows as available

eGift Card balances can be cleared via your Square Online Dashboard. Head to your Gift Card overview page and select the gift card you'd like to clear. Next, select Clear Balance

Hi  thanks  - I have tried that and it will not work for me ??  the button to clear just does not activate and does not allow me to click it or action this ??   so very confused because the option comes up as you have shown ??   thanks for caring and writing back but I am looking for the reason why this is not working for me on my Dashboard - I am now wondering if it is linked to my subscription level ???

@VLAPP this shouldn't be tied to a subscription, as far as I'm aware.

Good evening, I would also really love to have this feature, as my business is appointment-based, and I want to sell gift cards that my customers can then use while booking their appointments. Like the above commenter, I do love square and what I've been able to do with it, but this seems like a strange omission -- to not be able to pay for appointments with gift cards. I would like for a customer to be able to gift a session, and then have the gift receiver book online without them having to call with their gift card. This feature would be hugely valuable to me as an appointment-based business and with the holidays coming up, the sooner the better!

It's now the last half of 2024 and we still don't have a solution. I've spent hours trying to find a work around for customers to use an egift card to book a class. I'm thinking it's not worth my time to offer these. It's   a good look to sell egift cards and then customers having the hassle of contacting me and waiting for me to manually book them. As one other in this thread stated, I see an option to clear a balance (haven't tried that feature yet). I'm also concerned about redeeming an egift card toward a class booking, but I'm not sure how to readjust their egift card balance. Ugh! It's not a good look for me OR for Square. Please resolve. It's been several years that Square businesses have been requesting this feature!
