Hi. I'm a newbie here. I have a company that sells codes for virtual events (races). I'm having a hard time understanding how can I use square for my company, which is an online-only company. We don't need a website. We only need to generate links for our clients, normally race directors, that are going to use those links to sell tickets for their own events. We are the app behind these events, so for every ticket sold we charge our fee. I would like to create links for a race coming next month, that has discounts based on timeframe. I was able to generate the codes using the square dashboard, but when I tried to create the discount, it doesn't work. I understood I have to create discounts using square online, but there's no timeframe-based discount, only using coupons. Is there a support phone I can call? If not, is there anyone out there with a similar need that knows how to solve these things? Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for your question and I think Square will be able to work for your events. As far as time-based discounts, do you mean that the cost is discounted the sooner someone registers for an event? You may be able to achieve this several different ways. You should be able to set beginning and ending dates for any coupon code you create. OR, if the cost increases after a certain date for everyone, you could change the item price on that event item at the cutoff dates, so over time you are increasing the price. This would be done by editing the item details and increasing the price. I hope this was what you were trying to achieve with Square and your event.

Hi @HC this is exactly what i want to do. Thanks for the reply. I'm having problems on the execution. I was using dashboard to create the race tickets (there are 4 different races with two variations,  with and without Swag packs) and for an specific time-frame we will give 30% discount,  then 20% discount, then fill price. I created once race and noticed i couldn't apply the discount if the checkout is an online link. So i started again in the online option. I created them an item from scratch but couldn't see the time-frame option, only a coupon option. I created then a coupon but couldn't apply it on the item i had just created. So that's why i posted the question. I felt the system is great for 99% of the people who run different types of online or physical business,  for i believe in part of the 1% that needs a but of customization.
