Why did you choose Square POS for your business?
I am a hair stylist and I also sell retail for women currently, but I am having a hard time figuring out which company, including Square POS, is best for my business! I'm trying to see if Square POS or a different company will be best for my salon and spa and the retail side of my business as well! Can someone please help with the best suggestions?

@AWomansGLORY There are a ton of options in the point of sale arena. I personally chose square because they basically give you the point of sale software for free. No subscription, no contract, just pay as you go from the money you take in. At the time, square was actually the cheapest option compared to say elavon. Fast forward a few years, the software is alot more robust and feature rich, good website integration, payroll, etc. The cost to get started is the lowest there is and it works on alot of hardware, although now I prefer apple products and the square stand.
No square isn't perfect, nor the cheapest, but they offer some of the best all around product that you can get your business going, get your money, and get an online presence and online sales. The reporting is good, data is preserved in the cloud, but you can run without internet if it goes down. I can use my phone or a tablet or even buy a terminal.
There may be someone with a better website, a cheaper swipe rate, a better appointments app, but no one has everything in 1 place where it simplifies my life. I have a finite amount of time to spend on these sorts of things, and I want to spend time growing my business, not getting the best rate or the absolute best website or the absolute best hardware. In some places square is best. The problem with perfection is it can kill your productivity. Square helps me that way. Oh, and square actually listens and tries to improve instead of telling me how it should be.
So this is what I say, I have 4 restaurants all using square, I can tell you, you can get up and running with square fast and cheap, or fast with minimal investment in a tablet, contactless reader, and printer or you can stick with e-mail receipts. Don't spend weeks deciding on a point of sale or processor. Look at the options, pick one and get building your client book and moving those spa products and services. That is what you probably got into this for in the first place.
Why I chose square: to make money doing what I love.
