Square for Restaurants: How do I access cash drawer logs and history?
We use Square up for Restaurant. All our staff enter their code into the POS before they can perform any actions - such as taking an order or viewing the live sales report, or even opening the cash drawer.
How can I run a report for which team members are opening the cash drawer, especially when there is no associated sale/order. For example: Team member John Smith, decides to randomly open the drawer to pull some change out or put something in to the cash drawer.

Hello @nestburger, thanks for your post! At this time you can see which team member has started and ended a cash drawer from the Cash Drawer section of your online Square Dashboard. However, there isn't a way to see exactly who has physically opened the drawer throughout the day. That sounds like a useful feature though - do you think you'd use it every day or occasionally to check on your reports/team?

@Helen We would love to have this feature and would use it daily. Seems strange there is no logging of this as everything with the cash drawer is.

This is not actually accurate. From my testing when you open a drawer using the Action > Open Drawer there is no record of it.

Hey there @OOskills thank you for reaching out and confirming this, I am sorry for any confusion.
I can definitely see how having this information is important and I would suggest you submit a feature request on our Ideate Board. I do want to be clear though a submission to Ideate does not guarantee this will be implemented, our team will look into this based off customer input.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
