Square POS laundromat reciept

Hello,

Our laundromat runs on Cash Only and I was interested in the square retail POS app. To say the very least, it was great. So much in fact we bought a printer , cash drawer , and as well as a Square Register. However, I need to address some issues that I need to point out.

Issue 1 : Receipt ID:

The receipt ID is mostly a 4 characters randomized in either numbers and letters. Is there any possible way to change it so that its just only integers rather than a mix and match of letters and numbers.

Issue 2 : How tiny the Receipt ID is:

Our laundromat runs on a Wash and Fold premise. Customers would drop off their clothes for us to Wash and Fold. We usually tie up the receipt on the string on the laundry bag. The Receipt ID is big so we would identify it quickly. On Squares receipt however, the ID is mostly tiny meaning I would usually have to squint my eye on the receipt. Is there anyway to change the size of that?

So yea, that's the only issues I want to fix. There are other issues like putting customers phone numbers on receipts but I had a workaround that with the in-order person receipt. If you guys have any possible solutions for this please tell. It is gladly appreciated.

I do not think you can change the size of the receipt ID, but since you are already handling the receipt to staple it to the bag and it is only 4 characters, could you write the ID on the back with a sharpie so it is easy to ID and see?  Or staple A tag to it that has a matching tag the customer returns to you when they pick up the items?  These are just 2 quick ideas I have to help you out.  My brother has a laundromat that does a tag thing for customers.

Why didn't I think of that before. Thanks for the tip. The only issue I have remaining is that the receipt is all in numbers and letters rather than just integers. I did see couple of screenshots of other square receipts that have just numbers in them. I wonder if that is still possible.

I am just starting to setup my square register for my laundry services here in TX. Do you know of a way to set an item up to where you can add the weight of the clothing to what you charge per lb? Or easier, if I would be allowed to see one of your receipts I may can figure it out on my own?

You can read this and go near the bottom : Sell Items By Weight.

Near the top of the Linked web Page it tells you how to setup the item by Weight, And near the bottom it tells you how to Actually ring up the sale.  In the Middle describes how to use a Scale that connects to Square.   I think its easier if you just type in the weight Let Square calculate it that way. Then trying to set up a new scale too.
