I worked at a small watch repair/sales Kiosk in a dying mall during college.
Corporate chain.
No customers, I was getting paid to study, essentially.
Felt like I was cheating the system.
With all these kids in debt, nowadays, I guess I'm lucky.

I used to work in the IT sector specifically for the film industry. It was really cool to support the IT systems for these movies and TV shows but it was full of relentless stress and non-stop worst case scenario problems.

i have a degree in industrial engineering (though i know own a bakery) but my first job out of college was 50 hrs a week salaried position as a manufacturing engineer. They mandated 50 hrs a week though we were only paid for 40 and the work would be done in 30. i was SOO bored. and they hired another older engineer who though he knew everything but prided himself in being an actual nazi. I left 6 months after they hired him.
The engineering part of the work was interesting but the company had a very bad work life balance and a toxic culture. It had been bought/sold 2 times in the 3 years before i worked there, and in the 2 years i was there they were sold again and 6 months after i left they were bough by another company.
i dont miss it.

Well, worst job ever? I've usually had two at a time before I left high school. There's soooo many to choose from!! Easily, when I worked at the Sport and Racquet Club that was once next to Purdue. The manager was a psycho who cornered everyone that came in as a "winner" of the two-weeks of membership (you know, those bogus cardboard boxes on top of a pedestal at the mall?) and basically hard-sold/physically menaced everyone until they signed up for a paid membership. When I refused to pressure a young couple who were completely broke (and thought in winning they finally caught a break) he went in and tried to close the deal. I'm glad to say the young (19 yr) husband stood up to the guy. He threw the paper work in the couple's face and told them to enjoy their two-weeks. I quit that day.

My most favorite job before owning my own biz was working at Tower Records- it was so so much fun and it was super cool to listen to music all day. This was the late 90s and the music scene was amazing.
Worst job was I worked for a small marketing firm for 5 years in the early 00s. I learned a TON but my boss was unhinged!

Okay before starting my business I was a Medical Coder. Absolutely loved it! We worked from home and I had a happy little routine. Then the business was bought out and the new company required us to come to the office. Now I’m not a morning person, long commute person, cubicle person, or a person who manager seems to want to micro-manage even though they themself do not understand the system.
Needless to say I was becoming a little sad and lost...had to be a better way. Fast forward...I own my own nail studio. Had a little set back because of the shutdown from Covid, but we’re still trying to expand and currently are hiring more technicians:)
I've been really contemplating getting into Medical Coding! I'm already so busy as it is but it's just so interesting. Have a hard time talking myself out of doing it lol.

My favorite job was when I was a barista at a great little coffee shop in Santa Cruz. It wasn't fun opening at 5:45 but it was a social job where I made friends and had fun helping customers.
Worst job- selling knock off perfume/cologne door-to-door and in parking lots in Los Angeles. It was high pressure, super shady and I didn't make any money. Ugh, worst job ever!

Just me testing! 🙂
I've done so much it's hard to pick, I liked almost all of it too. I'd say my absolute favourite though is what I am currently doing. I work as a Medical Office Assistant for 2 OBGYN's full time as well as running my business. I definitely keep myself busy!

I worked at Harvard University Health services before starting my business. Actually, working at HUHS is the reason I went to school to become a massage therapist and start my own business. Even though I made really good money working at HUHS, it was one of the most miserable places to work. Everyone was always bickering at one another and most of the students there are spoiled brats that excepted never to be told NO! Long story short. I started there as a phlebotomist and kind of forced in a receptionist position (which I did not care to become). All that sitting was making me gain weight and was bad on my hips. That is why I made the move to become an MT. Happily for 17 years now.

I would say my worst job was doing contract data entry for a large company. When I left, an entire bottom drawer of that filing cabinet was full of contracts that needed to be entered. I could not stay awake at the computer.

Favorite job: Working at a bingo hall, friendly old people, bingo cards, and colorful dabbers everywhere. BINGO.
Worst job: Nordstrom rack, I had the worst trainer I've ever had to work with in my days of working. 👎 COVID written all over that trainers forehead.

Worst Job was at AAA, not for me. Great place to work at if you like sitting at an office and dealing with people on the phone scared, panicked, and you are their life line to help. I wasn't into that or sitting, I needed to move.
Best job was cleaning houses with my mom. We always had a good time together, she's been gone now 4 years. I wasn't crazy about the cleaning then but I wish I could do that with her again now.

I was an assistant manager for the now defunct Eckerds Drug Store! I hated that job. I disliked people that worked there, such a horrible culture. They were actually sued soon after I left for their assistant manager pay schedule. You were required to work 50 hours week. They considered you salaried and only paid you “half time” for the extra 10 hours. While still having to punch the clock. Happy to report the class action suit won in the workers favor. I got a little under $100 check from settlement. 😲 Only worked six months!
