1. [New] Square Appointments: No-Show Protection Now Blocks Prepaid Debit Cards
Labels: (Banking) (Square Appointments)
We heard your feedback that clients use prepaid debit cards with insufficient funds to avoid paying a no-show or last-minute cancellation fee. To address this, the Appointments team has launched an improvement to the “No-Show Protection” feature where a prepaid debit card can no longer be used as the no-show payment card on the online booking site, even if the prepaid debit card is saved as a “Card on File.”
2. [New] Save Time with Bulk Editing
Labels: (Square Dashboard) (Square Retail POS)
We’re excited to announce that you can now edit item details in your catalog in bulk, saving you time and energy when managing your item library. We know editing many items at once has been a tedious and time-consuming activity requiring you to edit items one-by-one or by importing a CSV file. With Bulk Editing, you can make up to 250 updates at once in bulk right from your item library in your Square Dashboard. You can even customize which columns are visible to keep your updates contextual.
3. [New] Close of Day Reports Plus More Support for Cash Tips on Square Register
Labels: (Square Hardware) (Square Register) (Square Restaurant POS)
Smart operators are always looking for better reporting features. I’m happy to announce that Close of Day reports are now available on Square Register. We wanted to make it easier for you to declare cash tips, close cash drawers, and adjust tips from the Close of Day report preview. This means that you can run the Close of Day report to quickly understand the performance of your business each day with important information such as total cash and card tips, net sales, category sales, and more.
4. [New] Committed Inventory for Invoices
Labels: (Square Inventory Management) (Square Invoices)
You can now commit inventory to buyers when creating an invoice. With this update, stock held in an open invoice is marked as committed and removed from the available to sell count to help reduce the risk of accidental overselling.
This will help you in situations where you may need to invoice a buyer for particular items and want to make sure that inventory isn’t sold to anyone else before the buyer pays. For example, an invoiced item will no longer be available on your square online store since it has been committed to another buyer already. Nonetheless, you will still be able to add overcommitted stock to an invoice if you wish to do so.
5. [New] Appointments Booking Filters
Labels: (Square Appointments)
As an Appointments seller, it’s imperative to communicate with your clients before and after every appointment. We are introducing three new bookings filters (Last booking date, First booking date, and Booked with) into your Customer Directory. Now, you can more quickly and effectively communicate with your clients and understand their booking habits.
