We are getting ready to launch our online store. I did a test purchase ($33) of:
- 1 item that is to be shipped ($28) +
- 1 item that is a donation ($5)
The fee should be ($28 + $5) x 2.9% + $0.30 = $1.26
But we were charged $1.56, meaning we were charged $0.30 two times.
Please advise why this happened, when we should be charged $0.30 per transaction -- NOT item.

I have not seen that before as it is a per transaction fee. can you grab a screenshot of the transaction details in square where it shows fees? only thing I can think off the top of my head is a donation is run as a separate transaction from a purchase. but I'd have to see how that is on the transaction details.

How do I upload a screenshot? I see only "insert code" and "insert/edit link."

Our items are listed as "shipping.
However, the Donation item is listed as "electronic."
So we have 2 different shipping methods.
I've changed the "Donation" to a "shipping," so now ALL items are all the same "Delivery Method." I will have my co-leader make the purchase and see if this makes a difference.

OK, that was the issue. Two different shipping methods, even though one transaction, cost 2 transaction fees.
