Hey @KGkrafts!

My guess is, the Seller Community has seen a rise in auto generated posts written by spam bots, for this reason and for Square’s security it is necessary to display a Captcha for users as this prevents any mass spam.

I hope I could answer effectively, if this was useful please do mark it as best answer!

Same issue. Really annoying and unnecessary after confirming once. Now it's every time I login. Please make it stop.

Hey @jlb2112!

Sadly it is necessary, after all Square is a financial company and needs all the security they can get to avoid their platform and software being abused. It only takes a second so it's nothing that's going to get in the way unless CAPTCHA thinks you're a robot in which case it will request you solve a simple puzzle!

Hope this explains the need for this element on the updated log in page.

Thanks. I understand the need. I just don't understand why it "needs" it every time. I also have to solve the puzzle every time as well. There are better options, especially for a financial company.

I respectfully disagree. Might be simple for you but it's not for me and none of my banking or credit card websites make me go through the hoops of proving I'm not a robot and solve silly puzzles.  My iMac uses Touch ID to auto fill passwords that were safari generated.  These aren't passwords that can be easily typed I or remembered which make them harder to be guessed and it takes my fingerprint to auto fill.  This whole robot thingy has stopped this feature from working as intended.  I now have to go into Safari preferences and lookup my password, copy and paste it into the field THEN and only then I get to answer the question, I'm not a robot.  It's maddening and non-productive to my work flow, especially when you figure the times I have to step away and things time out and I have to DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN.

my square checking account was compromised a few days ago, someone added my debit card to their Apple Pay, with my 2 factor turned on, so square is not that secure

I keep getting the same message with the CAPTCHA and

have to answer the puzzle each time to login, this is a problem that needs to be resolved. Security is one thing annoying is another.

I am having the same issue and it's really annoying and super time consuming to sign in.  I use safari generated passwords that auto fill with Touch ID, except that won't work now.  I have to go into preferences and find my password, copy and paste it into the field as it's not a password that even I would remember!  Yes, I agree---please make it stop!  UGH!

Thats so strange! Im also using a Mac with autofill passwords and it works just fine with the new process. I suggest not using the Touch ID feature if possible. That is the only difference i see between what you and I are doing,

Hi friends!

If you're really not down with the new 2-Step login verification it can be disabled! Simply go into your Account & Settings tab on your dashboard and its clearly marked under the personal information subheading!

Add me to the annoyed list. I check sales many times a day. Just another slowdown. Once a day fine. All day every day - annoying.

Sorry for the trouble, everyone. I'm trying to find out more information as to why this is happening. I'll post an update as soon as I have more details to share.

Overjoyed to see that this is back. I suspect it is getting triggered because we use autofill to complete the login credentials. It's frustrating enough that Square won't maintain a session for even a day or provide you with the ability to add a trusted computer to the account, but now I'm clicking crosswalks and stoplights multiple times a day. This is not security, merely the illusion of it.
