Hello! My business handles the services of storage/shipping. Because of this, I do not have any traditional inventory, but I have heard good things about Square so wanted to do a trial run and see if this application(s) could support the business.
For the first use-case, Storage, I don't see any immediate issues, but when I get to the shipping side of things I start to get stuck. I know I can integrate directly with parcel carriers or other 3rd parties, but I would only get my shipping cost returned. Is there a way that I could repurpose the 'tip' feature to be a service fee and then I could use that to add X% uplift to the shipping cost before presenting the final number to the customer?
There is the option of not generating revenue off the shipping but then that would have to be in the form of some flat fee, but I worry about there being sticker shock depending on the goods being shipped, e.g., a $10 service charge for shipping two heavy boxes across the globe doesn't stand out quite as much as a $10 service charge for shipping a book to another state. Please let me know if there is a more appropriate forum for this type of question - thanks!

I don't know if this will really help you BUT I do a flat rate for shipping. My customers like it because they know what to expect and I've kept it the same for the last 4ish years. I may have to increase it next year but fingers crossed I can squeak out another year.
