History Inventory Adjustments Report

When I go to my Square Dashboard - Items Library - History  then press the Drop Down to select which Adjustments under <All Adjustment Types>.  I can see everyone but Theft, how do I get a report for these Items?  Is that the same as Loss even though the Drop Down for Adjustments for an Item has both?  We had 2 thefts this year and filed police reports but now I can not find a report for those items.

Hi there again, @Candlestore - I appreciate your patience while I worked to get an answer on this for you 🙏

Here's what the Retail Team said:

"Anything marked with a stock action of "loss" or "theft" will show under the adjustment type "Lost" in Inventory History. You can find this and other adjustment types in Support Center Article: View Stock Adjustment History with Square for Retail"

I hope this information is able to answer your question but please do let me know if I can help with anything else!

@_Violet ;

I see what you're saying but then why does the Team have 3 Different options for Loss ( Loss, Theft, and Damage).  Why make us choose if it all goes into the same category on a report?  Wouldn't it make sense to have a choice of

"Loss ( which includes Loss, Theft, and Damage)" as a choice if they will be reported the same?  I am thinking when I see these reasons for a deduction of inventory besides a Sale that this would be reported by the Terminology that I chose.  We also need an option for Donations to local Charities, since that is not a Sale and the item was not Stolen but inventory has decreased.  Every year we get requests from the Local Fire department, EMS and School District, plus other organizations for gift Basket(s) or Items for a Tricky Tray to be raffled off for a fundraiser.  We get proof of their non tax Id and get them an item or basket for the event.  Any suggestions how I put this in Square?  Since the raffle item(s) are not sold at full price and no cash is received, we could use a Donations selection in the inventory selection to reduce inventory.  Or better yet ask the Team what is the difference in Reporting by choosing Loss, Theft or Damaged when they all report to the main Heading of Loss?

Just found out about the Comp thing that has to be enabled, instead of it being there but not accessible or a warning saying it needs to be turned on.  Now I just Turned it on and made a Donations (Charity Fundraiser) Comp Button.
