Refund/Deposit

I issued my first refund and I'm not sure if the remaining amount has shown up on my balance.

If you look back at your transactions or Balance you should see a Negative number, meaning the amount was taken from your account to pay the customer.  Now if the original sale was say the day before, the Refund amount would not be taken from that day but would show as the day you processed the Refund.  The trick is that your Daily Deposit from Square hopefully is more than the Refund you gavem which only will show a lower Deposit amount.  If you go into your daily Balance for the Day you gave the refund you can see this:

And you can see at 2:20 pm on 10-16-2022 we gave a refund for $112.30 which includes the Square Fees or a Refund which comes out of my Bank account of $109.39.

Another way to find Refunds Quickly is through a Transfer Details Report CSV.  Using Google Sheets you can sort the columns and if you sort all Payments column you can get all your Refunds for the Downloaded time Frame together.  As you can see I sorted my Payments column which has all my Refunds together.  The one for 10-16-2022 is highlighted and matches the above picture.

You can see that the Collected column is a - negative number for Refunds and a + Positive number for payments.

If you look at all the Deposits and Refunds for the Day in Question your Deposit will not equal what you sold because Square deducts from the sales and just lowers the deposit to your bank account.  So you may not see a withdrawal from your bank account, but just a balance that is lower than expected for that day.
