Do I have to use a hotspot on my phone to use Square? If i use wifi is it secure?

I'm in a craft show and am wondering if I use wifi at the school will it be secure using Square on my phone? They say we should have a hotspot, but do I really need one?

Any wifi you can access for your Square device will work. Square handles all encryption within the reader and the app itself so you don't have to worry about security when running your transactions.

If you would be more comfortable using your phone's hotspot, that works as well. As long as your device can access the Internet, you're good to go.
