Airline-issued food service vouchers distributed to inconvenienced passengers with virtual credit card numbers have never been a problem in the past utilizing Square, however, this has now changed. There is no zip code associated with the voucher. In the past, we could enter any zip code and the sale would be transacted. However, this is not allowed. We have entered numerous zip codes and contacted many personnel at United Airlines and nobody knows the billing zip code. The food-service merchants here that do not utilize Square have no problem with the transaction as their POS does not require a zip code. We are losing out because of Square

To complete a payment by manually entering your customer's card information to the app you must enter the ZIP code associated with that card. If there isn't a ZIP code, you'll need to ask your customers to provide a different form of payment.
It sounds like these cards might not be accepted by Square. Do they have one of the logos shown on this article about accepted cards? If you can provide a bit more information about these cards I can share your request with the Payments team.
