new store: 2 questions

I just opened my store and I cannot find the answer to 2 questions (and I am sure the support staff is already tired of talking to me in person):

1.  How am I notified if I actually get a sale.  Will I get an email?  Or do I have to stay signed in and keep checking the Orders page?

2.  If I should need to refund someone a small amount for overcharging for shipping (like if they order something that can be shipped in an envelope instead of a box or if they are local and decide to pick it up), how do I do that refund?  I am using Paypal and Square.

1. You'll get an email to the email address you use for your account. If you install one of our mobile apps and have notifications turned on, you can also get notifications on your mobile device.
