Shipping & Tax Solutions for Starter Package??
I see that it is not possible to add shipping charges or taxes with the starter package. (At this time, I am not interested in upgrading to the business package.)
The product that I am selling is a physical hardcopy of a book that I authored. The only solution I have come up with is to add the flat rate shipping charge to the total price of the book and I made a note in the product description that "Shipping charges are included in price".
As for taxes, should I assume that it is not legally required to charge taxes since this option is unavailable??? I find this confusing.
Thanks!

I couldn't really say whether you'd need to charge tax or not, @MegAntoni. It'd be best to refer to your local government to see what your state, city, or county requires. Depending on what it is and how your particular area handles taxes, you might be able to also incorporate that into your price as well.

I'm confused as well.
Why even offer an eCommerce package that does NOT include tax?
I can understand having a package that does not include eCommerce, but once eCommerce is included, don't a huge majority have to collect taxes?
I currently have a whopping 2 products. In Virginia, there's a 5.3% sales tax but it HAS to be listed separately. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to deal with tax having the Starter package?
Thanks.

Hello Karla!
Where sticking to your state's tax laws is concerned, you're going to want to check with an expert directly, as that's not something we could answer here. If we can help out with implementing that plan in any way, though, please let us know!

I am also somewhat confused and trying to find an answer. I purchases the Starter eCommerce package, as I am just starting out. This package uses the Weebly checkout site rather than my own. Does the Weebly Checkout handle shipping and tax issues?
I'm having trouble understanding how shipping costs can be implemented in real time...

I am confused because upon purchase it appeared that the Starter package used the Weebly Checkout and the upgraded plans used the user's own store...but I would have thought the Weebly Checkout would be able to handle tax/shipping. Does it not?

Our checkout tools do incude shipping and taxes, but only if you've upgraded to Business or Performance.
You can see a comparison on this page of our site:
