Retail wholesale and consignment options
I need a solution for having different pricing structures for members / groups.
My main site is great for the retail customer but I also have wholesale and consignment customers.
Is there a way for there to be special pricing for groups? My wholesale customers will need to have a 50% discount for their orders as well as be tax exempt while consignment customers need to have a 100% discount and be tax exempt.
Duplicating my products is not a good option as I have over 400 items in my store.

Hey there!
In a situation like this, I'd recommend importing the products via CSV, as you're going to want distinct products to handle the tax exemption change, as well as potentially maintaining a separate store structure for the two sets. It should be a lot faster than trying to remake them one by one, as well.
Otherwise, you'd be able to use a coupon code in order to reduce the prices accordingly for anyone who was given it, and distribute the correct codes to your wholesale and consignment customers.

I already use csv for importing products, even so duplicating my items will still be time consuming as my products are based around photos and you can't mass import the photos. Seperating the store structure for wholesale and consignment would involve triplicate copies of each product with differing price points, then importing them via csv, then adding the image for each one by one. Doing this for 1200 items seems excessive. I also add 50 or so new products every other month.
I considered coupon codes this doesn't seem like a great solution. Having them log in to the site for ordering feels more secure to me. It may seem picky, but when you have customers spending $1000 or more per order having a cupon is not only an inelegant solution but can be easily misplaced or forgotten.
Maybe I am missing the point of adding members to my site?

Is there an app that might solve this?

I'm not aware of an app in the App Center that would facilitate that kind of thing, no. There are a few separate store apps there, like eCommerce and Ecwid that might come easier to you.
Where placing images on your CSV file is concerned, you should be able to enter the URLs of any already online to add them on, if that's not something you've already done.

I have this same problem. I want to offer my wholesale customers cheaper prices and also different size options to what I sell to my retail customers. I don't really want to hassle with a csv which I have to update every time I add a new product. I want my customers to use my website as a point of reference to all the products I have to offer and place their order right there on the site.
Any chance that can be done, Weebly?

I think the simplest way to do it would be to make separate products for your wholesale purchasers. You could also make a special category for them and add these products to that, so they're not included with the rest of your products.

I agree that this is a feature Weebly should consider adding. I am comparing to Shopify and Wix. I like Weebly the best in other features, but not allowing a way to offer a separate set of prices for logged in wholesalers is probably a deal-breaker for me. Shopify offers some apps to handle wholesale prices.

Morning Adam,
So I am for now going the coupons way for wholesale and having al retailers login to be able to use it.
It is NOT a good idea to copy the store and to import another CVS file as it makes it impossible to track the inventory and it confuses the POS system with Square.
Have you made any decisions on adding a wholesale feature maybe similarto the feature on storefront button? The products can then be added with a product widget to a login page. This way maybe when checking out the system would display the wholsale price? This would mean one product would need 2 prices inserted on the one product page. The coupon option is definitly not a longterm solution. As a developer I have over 100 clients with Weebly. As a specialist in SEO I do not believe moving to shopify is a solution as Weebly has been on top of requirements for SEO and changes for the full 7 years I have been using the platform. I am plesantly surpriced and blown away seeing some weebly links with AMP starting to show up in mobile searches. I do have all the faith in the world that you guys can sort this out! This matter is real urgency please. Thanks, Melien

I don't know specifically if we are, although I think adding wholesale features would be a great addition to the platform. That's really great that you're seeing some links with AMP show up - that is something that we are intending to incorporate.

I don't believe we have a solution to this yet, but you're most than welcome to suggest it in our Vote on Features section: https://community.weebly.com/t5/Vote-on-Features/idb-p/IdeaExchange
Thanks,
Erin

How are you requiring the login of your customers as a pre-requisite for using the coupon code?
Thanks!

Hey James,
What did you wind up doing for a wholesale form? I'm close to scrapping Weebly as this is such an important feature to have available in my store.
Thanks,
Amy

I'm also looking for the ability to have a wholesale variance and considering moving my store elsewhere so that I don't have to manage inventory through multiple versions of the same product. Anyone know of an app or even another online store that could display in weebly and do this?

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking into a wholesale option to run alongside our online shop.
This is what I've played around with and it looks like this setup will work well.
- I've turned on the membership option under settings.
- Setup a group called 'Wholesale Customers'.
- Went to my website pages. Setup a page for a shop category called 'Wholesale Products'. I just set it to any product category for the moment. Set visability to the group 'Wholesale Products'.
- Went to product categories, created a new category also called 'Wholesale Products'.
- Went to products and made a test product and put it into the 'Wholesale Products' category. You can setup options for the product for quantities and once saved you can edit these prices to be correct for the number of items of that product.
- Went back to the page I made, set the category to the 'wholesale products' category I just made.
- Went back to settings, to the members group I made called 'Wholesale Customers'. Clicked on the group, selected the page this group can view which is 'Wholesale Products'.
Now on my website there is a login/register tab on the main menu at the top of the website.
Anytime someone registers they are told that they will be notified that once they are approved they will recieve an email notification.
At this stage we would then send them our wholesaler form to fill out ensuring they meet our criteriea and collect any information we require from them.
So this works very well. I still need to consider setting up new shipping options (as at the moment we just have a flat rate option). Also deciding on a minimum order price for wholesalers. Or perhaps it's just the first purchase they make and we monitor this as the orders come in (I don't believe weebly can do this).
As a non member you will see the option for 'wholesale products' at the very end of the menu. When you click it you are instructed to register. So it's useful that those who may not know you are a wholesaler can see this and enquire. Yet not able to view or purchase any products in the 'wholesale products' category. And again, we would then send our wholsaler application form.
Hope this helps some of you as it was helpful for me to read through all your comments before exploring the capabilitites of the system myself
