Product import takes forever and uploads only half the products

This is second time I'm using the upload with pretty much consistent results.

I'm trying to upload small amount of product, only little bit less then 2000 product items. 

First time it took about 3 hours and it uploaded 750 products, but I had to start over.

Second time, it took all night and uploaded almost 1000 products.

This is both ridiculous and frustrating.

Anybody has a clue how to actually use this site for more than 2 or 3 product listings?

Sorry to hear you've had some trouble with your uploads, @evergreen1666. 2000 products is quite a few to upload, although you should still be able to import them all. Try splitting it into 3 or 4 different CSV files instead of one single CSV.

That's what I ended up doing. Interestingly, the last 600 or so uploaded very quickly - I'm guessing they had some issues that got resolved just now.
