PayPal, how long does a Refund take on Cancel Order Command?

Hi All,

I had my first order cancelled from a customer. My site uses PayPal only.

My question is, does anybody know how long it takes PayPal to issue the refund once I signal the order is cancelled via my Weebly site? 

I would hope it's as fast as them paying when I have money available to draw from in the PayPal account.

Also, does anybody know what happens if I were to go into PayPal, after I placed an order cancelled command via my Weebly site, and did an Issue Refund myself? Would PayPal double dip on me, or just ignore the Weebly command on their end when they finally get around to it?

I'm in process on this, so if I learn anything, I will also post it here.

Hello Daniel! The Store interface should act with the same resonpsiveness as the payment processor. However, I'd highly recommend double-checking with PayPal directly if you have any concerns about the time frame or other functions.

on this particular refund, I waited a couple days, and it still did not go, so I went into PayPal and issued the refund directly myself. I need to get a friend to input a test order, then cancel, and see how long PayPal takes. I contacted PayPal, but only got the semi automated answer that totally misunderstood my detailed message, and simply took the stance that I was refunding directly. They either did not read, and a computer answered based on key words, or they did not read hard enough.

So, I still have no firm confirmation that a cancel order command put through my Weebly site will automatically issue the refund through PayPal.

If I do the test, I'll post results here.
