No 'Cart' tab appearing on Site and cannot add orders - Internet Explorer

Hi Weebly

Using Internet Explorer the 'Cart' tab is not appearing on one of my stores, neither can you add to cart. On my other stoes the 'cart' seems to internmittantly appear but again you cannot add to cart from a product. Firefox is OK.

I have raised a ticket for this.

Just to add to this issue: with products with mutiple variations and pictures if you click on the picture it opens up in the same window not within the smaller product image. It looks like a script is going wrong somewhere. This is only on IE, Firefox is OK.

I just replied to your other post about this, Mike. Can you try switching to a standard theme temporarily to see if that helps?

No chance - it will disrupt so many things as I've done this before and it took days to fix everything. The themes should all be supported! 🙂

Also its happening on my 3 sites all with different themes! I am surprised more people are not affected!

I don't mean that you need to leave it on a standard theme, but this should tell us if the issue is caused by that or not. The main thing to keep in mind with a custom theme is if we make a change to standard themes, these changes aren't ported over to custom themes.

the point is just changing a theme messes everything up. There must be a way of resolving this from your end without changing themes.

p.s. It works ok on iPad iOS.

Hey there! Just to be sure we're all on the same page, what site are you seeing this issue appear on?

This issue is still happening. Adam advises that I should change 'Themes' but I did this before and everything messes up, so I dont want to do this again as I have business to run and not test websites! :-). Also it is happening on all three sites - and they are not all custom themes I dont think. I did not know I was using a custom theme - what ever that is!

I am using IE9.

I am surprised more people do not have this problem but I guess they just do not know as orders still keep coming in on the other browsers! Firefox and iPad IOS are ok and i guess the other more modern browsers are ok but no way of knowing.

Switching to a standard theme shouldn't mess up your content unless you made changes to a theme to add additional content areas, or CSS changes to affect positioning/margins/etc. If you did something small like tweak a color it shouldn't have any effects like that.

It's really easy to make a custom theme without making changes, by the way. If you open up the theme editor by clicking Edit HTML / CSS on the Theme tab, then click the save button on the top right - boom, you've just made a custom theme.

I guess the point I'm not getting across really well is if you switch back to the standard version of the theme that your custom theme is made from, it should look essentially identical. If you go to the Previously Used themes tab after clicking "Change Theme" on the Theme tab, I bet the one on the top left is the standard version of the theme you have.

Well I changed themes, the site took 2 days to sort out and it still looks terrible! Guess what the site still does not work with IE, the cart button appears but you cannot add anything to cart. Not happy.

I am completely disillusioned with Weebly after being a strong supporter.....
