Customer registration

So what exactly happens when a customer registers?  Other than having access to  passworded pages which I have no use for?  I can't find anything else.  It does not save customer info such as address or order history?  I would like to keep track of customer order totals and reward them when they reach milestones.  Also, when a customer submits their email for a newsletter or email subscription how the heck do I use them?  Do I have to manually copy them?  I cannot find where I would just add all subscribers to the "to".

Hey again @xstitchboutique.  Right now, being a site member is largely centered around site access since you can make pages private to specific members or groups.  We're definitely going to build off of what we have with Membership, although I don't have any details right now on what those features would be or when they'll be released.

Regarding form entries for a newsletter, you can use these with promote easily by just syncing them:

I would like to be able to create my own customer registration page where I specify what information fields they fill out. Once a customer is registered I would like to be able to assign a discount percentage to that customer if I choose to. I'm thinking of a family discount for close family or an industry discount for people who work in my same industry. Once set, that discount percentage would apply to all of their orders. Of course shipping costs would not be discounted.

I also would be interested in maintaining an order history for each customer.
