Add a category page

Hi!

I am trying to add a category page for my store, but I cannot seem to find a way to choose which category to add, it seems that the first category I created is added automatically to the category page. Is there a way to change the category after the page is created? Thank you!

Hi all!

Thank you guys for your input!

I've managed to resolve the issue by adding a standard page (instead of a category one) and then adding the category element, which allowed me to choose the categories I want to have on my page.

Hope this is of help Smiley Happy

I also have the same identical problem. The categories to pick from never finish loading. I have successfully created one category page but it was because that was the category it picked not me.  Mike.

We are having the same problem.  I opened a ticket 7 days ago and have sent multiple emails to follow up on the ticket and had not heard back from anyone at Weebly/Square.

I called today and opened another ticket. The representative told me that to create a category page now I needed to create a standard page then choose categories.  The application of this does not work on our website.  The representative told us that we were on an older platform and the engineering team needs to configure our website to have the category pages work as it previously did which will take additional days *sigh*

Sorry to hear you are running into an issue with your store!

I'm not aware of any issues happening with the category page, but it does look like you are using an older theme.

The best course of action is to reach out to our support team so that a rep can confirm if this is something that can be escalated to the engineers to be fixed.

Otherwise, you'll need to use a standard page with a category element, or possibly update your theme.

You can reach the team by scrolling to the bottom of our Help Center and clicking the contact us button. Once you see the automated chat window try typing something like "speak with a rep" to be directed to the teams available to your account.

I have been waiting since July to have this bug fixed and now I feel like I've been ghosted as noone has answered any emails for weeks. I sent another one today. There is obviously an issue as tehre are a few people reporting the same error. I will try the standar page idea and see if that works, though I really would like my categories feature up and working properly Smiley Happy Thanks.

update - I've been told I am using a very old theme - I am using Xander Brisk 2. The thing is my other sites use the same page and the category feature works. I was told to create a standard page and add categories to it. This option doesn't intergrate with my existing layout/pages so now I have to spend what looks like many days redesigning my website. It won't look as good as the category page layout looked beautiful, the adding category element isn't as crisp looking Smiley Sad I tried changing to other themes but the problem didn't disappear. I think they want me to migrate to Square and pay higher fees. I've been with Weebly from the very beginning and I'm really disappointed with the direction it has taken Smiley Sad
