I have a domain registered through Weebly. That website is configured with a forward to a Google Sites address. When users access the website via HTTPS an error is thrown as shown below and the page does not load. This issue started sometime around October 16, 2024.
ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH
I've reached out to support and they told me to not use HTTPS, which is an unacceptable answer in my opinion since Safari will automatically try and use HTTPS. Therefore the users would have to type in manually the URL with http:// at the beginning. Support also told me to have the users go to Google and type in the domain name there to bring up the website, which I also find as unacceptable since many users will type the URL of the site they wish to visit straight into the web browser, rather than googling for it.
Support said they would share this information with Engineering, but I have a feeling that is not going to go anywhere. Support has tried to republish my site as well as reset SSL and wait 24 hours. Neither of those things have worked.
