Weebly and Square Website builder features

I opened up my website from Square not knowing that if you do so, you lose all of the great editing capability of Weebly. Will the Square editing platform ever going to be as customizable as Weebly's builder? I hate the fact that everything is SO zoomed in on my website currently and I don’t have options to add pics and texts wherever I want to without choosing a preset section (which never really has anything simple as just a text field or picture. Almost always I have to edit these sections to remove unnecessary features just to add a simple text line on my page. The picture aspect ratio is horrible and does not show the entire image as it cuts it off....

Really wish I signed up directly from Weebly instead of Square though. Do you think the engineers will eventually make changes to show more fully and robust building features like the Weebly's builder?

Our team is working hard on adding more and more options to the editor experience used for a Square Online Store, so I would expect to see more options for organizing your content as they get more completed. Thanks for your feedback, @tisahcj.

I didn't realize, until I read this post, that there was a different editing platform from Weebly/Square than there is straight from Weebly. I was very disappointed in the platform for building my website but you can't see what you can do until you pay for it.  Isn't there any way to transfer your site to the Weebly platform to take care of the editing issues?  Frankly, I wasn't happy with the the same things OP is talking about, the ability to place text and photos where you want them should be integral to website development.  My website will not look as polished as I would like for it too.

There isn't a way right now to switch the editor experience that you have, and if you were to sign up through Weebly.com to create an online store you will get the same experience. Our team is listening very closely to feedback like yours, though, so we can build in more layout options to accommodate the different ways you might want to organize your content.

Yes, I have the same concerns and am very dissapointed. If more customization is not developed within the next 3 months or so, I will likely rebuild a new site on a different platform.

I am currently on this forum because of image re-sizing issues and the lack of control over ratios.

Not my only problem with this editor, but a big one.

Thanks for reaching out, @sara44 I don't know what plans are in store for the new editor in the next few months, but I can tell you we've made dozens of improvements in the past three months for sure. What is going on with your image issues? Can you post a link to the page you need assistance with? Thanks!

Is there a way to edit/swap alter the checkout image/background at the checkout page?

Thanks

I've built several sites using Weebly, and this is the first I've built with Weebly+Square. I'm completely unhappy with this experience, and I want to go back to just Weebly. How can I do that. This experience has been a nightmare, and, frankly, it's completely soured my opinion of Weebly in general. There are obviously features missing, and I feel ripped off. If you couldn't make the Square integration as user-friendly as the regular Weebly editor, then you shouldn't have released it — or there should be a warning that it's NOT THE SAME AT ALL! I want a refund, and I want my site switched to just Weebly.

Do you have more than one account, @argoldyn? If you do we can help move your paid services over to that account for you. If you want to use the classic Weebly editor and don't have another account, then do the following:

1. Log out of the account you are in

2. Go to Weebly.com and sign up again

3. Choose the option that you just want a website/don't want to sell right now

Adam,

Can you help me migrate an account so I can use the classic Weebly editor? Thanks!

We are not able to migrate accounts from one editor to another, but we can move your paid services if you have active billing. You'll have to create a brand new account using an alternative email, and make sure to choose the option that you are "not selling" when you create the account.

Once you have the new account made you can pm Adam or myself and we can help you out. Please keep in mind that you will need to rebuild the site itself with the new editor.

Hi Bernadette,

What will moving the paid services do? Will this transfer over all my store information, products, orders, etc? Thank you.

No, moving over a paid plan will only give you access to the plan features. You would still need to recreate the website and store in the new account. I'm a little unsure about your request, though. The account you are logged into is already using the classic editor.

Is there a reason why you want to use the classic editor? Is your site an informational site, or an ecommerce site?

I want access to the classic Weebly editor to create an information landing page with audio and video. The Square editor has none of the functionallity I need. Is there a way to do this or do I have to go somewhere else?

I totally agree!!! I want to be able to create/edit my websites with the original Weebly editor. I'm not interested in just selling products online, and the Square website tools do not allow me to create anything close to what I need (no audio etc...) How can I create my websites with the Weebly editor?  Or do I need to leave this platform that has been taken over and, in my opinion ruined, by these conditions?
