I'm currently trying to get my site accepted with Google News so we can grow our audience. We're an online entertainment magazine that interviews various celebrities. As I'm sure most of you know, you can only get the SSL certificate with the Business Plan at $300.00, and I'm currently on the Pro Plan.
We submitted to Google News about three months ago, and got rejected. I did some research, and noticed big websites like Rolling Stone, Hollywood Reporter, and Just Jared don't have an SSL Certificate, but their all on Google News.
My question is dose anyone know if an SSL certifcate is requested for submitting to Google News?
I would hate to upgrade to the business plan just for the SSL Certificate, and we don't sell any merchandise.

Okay. Thank you. I have yet to reach-out to Google directly, but I'll give that a shot.
Thanks!
