GDPR - How will this affect Promote
Hi
How will Weebly adress the issues it has with Promote and opting in for marketing emails
from the 28th May this will change things
ive noticed at checkout the marketing opt in box is pre ticked, to quote "Active opt-in: The data subject’s consent relies on the clear opt-in boxes being used. Pre-ticked boxes will not be sufficient to confirm consent."
This is not suitable to be compliant as the customer hasnt acted to opt-in.
im also wondering, does promote still keep the information of people who dont tick the opt in box?

We have a team that is actively working to make sure we will be compliant by the due date. I'm sure they are also taking promote into consideration, but I can relay the feedback for you. If I have any immediate updates I will let you know, otherwise the information would be updated in our help center. Thanks!

Hi Bernadette
This GDPR is a journey!!! I do have a questions around the compliance and how that will be implemented via the
Options:
Show "Log In" in site menu
Allow people to register with your site
Will there be options for us to put on the sign-up form to get the explicit consent needed for GDPR? Checkboxes, etc?
Many Thanks
Angie
