How do I get my mobile view to match my desktop view?

I just designed a simple blog and the desktop view is fine, but the mobile view cuts off the picture in the header/banner.  How do I fix that? Please give answers as if you were speaking to someone with no tech knowledge (cuz you are!).

@rsheiniuk   header images will never be the same on desk top and mobile.

Your mobile view  in PORTRAIT is  X x X, desk top view in lansdcape will have a completely other dimension.   It has to be cropped..    better cropped than squashed
