website not showing correctly on mobile device despite viewing ok in editor

Hi, just put up a website for a local car racing club and it looks fine on a PC device but when i view on my phone there are a number of things wrong.

home page > the icon for facebook and email are not there (they are in the editor view)

gallery page> the slideshow photo albums will not show on mobile device, (they are there in the editor view), HOWEVER i have a slideshow also (without the thumbnails) on the home page and that shows fine on the mobile device

i've tried several different templates for the mobile viewing in the editor but same issue with facebook/email icons missing and no slideshow in the gallery page

any ideas ?

Hi @phil91 Couple things.. 1) this is a custom theme. It's possible a change to the code is causing a conflict with the mobile view, and 2) the original theme is an older theme. The other themes are not mobile responsive and have a separate editing tool. These themes are not actively maintained and are considered retired. Your best option would be to update your site to a newer, responsive theme. I do suggest making a copy of your site first so that you can practice changing themes on the copy site. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Hi i did change to one of the new themes and the galleries look like they now work with a mobile device, however my logo on top of is TINY on the mobile device and looses all branding as its very very small

how can i fix this if i'm using a 'new' theme as there is no options to edit this for mobile viewing

If the logo isn't large enough, you might have better luck turning the logo off and adding a new section to your pages right at the top. In that section you can add a regular image element for your logo.

Hi Adam

the logo is quite large on the home page viewing with a PC .. check out www.LCORC.com.au

but its tiny tiny on the mobile viewer or on a phone/tablet and looks quite poor and out of proportion.

you suggest to remove the logo and place a larger photo there, but if i do that will it also make the mobile view large as that is the main issue i'm facing ?

Hi there @phil91.

Thanks for reaching out.

Sorry that you continue to encounter the same issue. We advise that you trim the edges of your logo so there is the least amount of white space around it and can look bigger on mobile. The logo is encoded in the mobile view, the only way to alter this is by going on the back end code of the logo and changing the size there, but you won't be able to do that in your Weebly editor. Regarding the size and view on a desktop, if this is the only quality of the logo you have, all you can do is try playing around with the size.

Adam

i havent been able to turn logo OFF and replace in the same position a picture file

on the LCORC.com.au website i have the usual logo at the top and underneath there are the options (menu), but placement of a picture seems only allowable UNDER the menu which is not the ideal location.

any ideas on this ?

Thanks for your post, @phil91. Can you refresh and check again? It should be showing the image again so you can edit and change it.

ok Adam

despite being able to now see the LOGO ontop of menu, couple of problems ... firstly that isnt appearing when i publish i only get TEXT (limestone coast offroad club)

and 2nd which is the reason i first ask for help is that when viewed in the editor or previously online with a mobile device i get only a TINY small logo on mobile view which is not what i want as it looks poor and not professional at all.

so im back to square one again after a month or two of going round in circle.    for now i'll attempt to place a photo image instead of the logo, as logo which appears above the menu (the correct location) results is tiny unreadable results in mobile view.  where if i place a photo, albeit not in the correct location (above menu options) at least the photo image is larger in mobile view and doesnt look as amateur
