Square Editor vs. Weebly Editor

Hi, @Bernadette—you've been helpful before, so I wanted to tag you here. 🙂

I've been a Weebly customer for 10+ years. This year, I created a tour business site with the Weebly editor. For ticket sales, I rely on a third-party company.

If I want to use Square to promote/sell my tours, lectures, and classes from my own website (and forgo the third party), would I need to recreate my site with Square's editor? I see that the two editors are not compatible.

FTR, I set up Square with my business email; I log into my Weebly account with my Gmail account.

Thank you!

Square

Hi there. Smiley Happy Sort of... if you want your inventory to sync with your Square account (useful if you also sell in person) you will need to recreate the site through Square with the new editor. It's a bit different than what you are used to and doesn't have as much editing flexibility at this time. The Square editor does not have the same automated delivery as the older editor either, so you would need to manually send the digital file after each order if you do not ship physical tickets. We're working on this feature, but I do not have a time frame of when that is expected to launch. Square Appointments can be integrated with the new editor, but you could also embed the service onto your current site. I don't think you use it at this time, but it's something you might want to look into. Smiley Happy

@Bernadette Thank you!

One more thing, if you don't mind: if I rebuild in Square, am I able to make Items (Events) that redirect to a site other than my own? For example, I offer a class at a local college that I'd like to promote on my site, but prospective attendees would need to register on the college's website (not mine).

Thanks again!

Square

Yes, you can use the Embed Code section to add code, or you can create a redirect link in the navigation. Smiley Happy

@Bernadette I was meaning in this section of Items (see attached). I don't see an embed code option or a redirect link option here. Thanks!

Square

It should be available in the new editor. You need to highlight the text you wish to edit and then click the little link icon under "description". If it is greyed out you will need to toggle off the sync option under Settings>Square Sync

@Bernadette Yep, got that, thanks! Smiley Happy Here's an example—if you click on Gender & Sexuality in Hollywood.

I've included directions on how to register (off my site), but what happens if people do not follow those and click the black "Attend" button instead and go through the payment process on my site? I hope that makes sense?!
