I just replied to your other post, but I can reply here as well @Basil. You do have the newer editor experience, which takes a different approach to site building as compared to the older editor experience. What sort of visual changes did you want to make that you wanted to change themes to achieve (themes are in the works for the new experience, by the way)?

Thanks for posting, @MikeJapan. There isn't a way to convert your account and site over to the older editor experience, so if you want to use the older editor you will need to create a new account. If you do that, make sure you choose the option that you just want a website/don't want to sell (you can still have a store if you choose this, by the way). We can transfer over any paid services in your current account to the new account.

Thank you for the quick reply. I've been going 'round in circles trying to get the "old" style editing back... I've made a new account, and I'm at the stage where I choose a plan. How do I let you know what the new settings are so you can transfer my purchase to this new site?

OR - I can simply purchase the Business Site for the new site and cancel this site which does not have the old style menu I want and you can give me a refund for this site?

Yes, we can refund you the purchase made in the account you do not want. If you are trying to reach the old editor you will want to choose the option that says you're not selling at this time. You will still have access to the ecom tools, but will be redirected to the old editor experience.

Hi Adam,

Please, please report to your product manager(s) or designers that this new editor is complete TRASH. It's a downgrade in every way. It's more difficult to use and provides less customization options. Do you guys really think everyone wants to make the same, generic looking website?

I have been making sites with Weebly since 2013 because of the flexibility (espeically HTML/CSS customization) that it provides. The fact that the editor was taken from me without me being asked has honestly upset me so much. If there isn't a way for me to change the site editor back I'm going to have to move all 31 accounts I have with weebly (most paying a professional fee each year) to Wordpress or something of the sort.

Can I change back?

I just signed up for a free account and can't find anything that amounts to theme choices or changes. What's up?

The editor experience you have doesn't currently support themes, @webpoppy, although that's something we are working on. What types of changes did you want to make? You might be able to make those without needing to actually change "themes".

I'm assessing your product and trying to make sense of it. Went through the questionnaire, expecting to be able to choose a theme and then ended up with a page that seemed dictated to me.

I'm confused – I see themes listed on your site but I can't preview them.

In reviewing your service I'm impressed by a lot of things – I'm a long time web designer and like the e-commerce features – but this wasn't as intuitive or obvious as I was expecting.

Hi there,

@Adam please can you convert my account with the e-mail address [personal info removed] back to the old-style Weebly editor.

I accidentally clicked "Business" when I set it up. I want it to be "Personal". Is this possible, please? I tried going to settings but it wouldn't let me change it.

If it is not possible, please would it be possible to deactivate this Weebly / Square account with e-mail address [personal info removed]

And I will start setting it up again from scratch, using "Personal".

Thanks

Teddy

Thanks for reaching out, @teddycurran

We are not able to change the account type from the backend, unfortunately. You would need to sign up for a new account with a different email, making sure to choose the option that says "I just need a website". If you state that you are selling, you will receive the new Square Online editor.

Apologies if I've missed a more recent thread on this, but am trying to avoid frustration on my end and extra work on yours.

I like Weebly and ease of editing (enough so that I recommended it to a colleague), but now am a bit nervous.  She signed up for Weebly to sell her work, but somehow ended up with the "new" editor.  So I have a few questions:
* is this new editor the unavoidable future of Weebly? (She showed me her site editor and neither of us is a fan).
* if, as the comment mentioned above, clients can "...still have access to ecom tools" with the old editor, is there anything I need to avoid doing ( in setting up my online store) so I don't get switched to this new editor?  I was planning on hooking up my square account to take payments but don't want to switch editors by accident.   Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your post, @Venezia20.

For the foreseeable future both editors will be available. To make sure you get the classic Weebly editor, choose the option that you just want a website when signing up - you can still add a store to that site. There are some differences in store features available, but most of them are the same.

Thanks for the feedback. Can you post a screenshot of the page you are looking at with themes listed? It sounds like you are looking at our older editor experience, and I can clarify for you.

Quick obvious idea that I can't believe you guys missed *Weebly and Square*.

WHY not just ask people at the beginning what editor they'd prefer. Not via some weird question (that is irrelevant because you can sell on both) but by just showing both and asking?!

I bet you did it this way to trick people into signing up for the new one to show your numbers grow.

This all feels very dishonest and like you guys didn't care about the end user at all. No one likes the new editor. It's pathetic. Please just change it back or give me the option to switch between the two. This is now worse that Wix.

Thanks for your feedback and suggestion, @KRKDesigns. As you've already found yourself, you can continue to add sites in the classic Weebly editor if you choose the option that you just want a website/don't want to sell right now. I don't know whether that question will change to something more succinct like "Do you want the drag and drop Weebly editor or the new Square editor" or something like that, but I can see why you would prefer that to the current choice. I'll share your comments with our team.
