I have an artist portfolio, and it bums me out that when I add the title and info for each piece it covers part of the artwork. I realize I could create images that have white space below them to compensate for this but would prefer if that happened automatically.

Hello! Do you have an example of the page so far you can link? That way, we can check into a few alternatives that might help simplify things for you.

It might be possible to change that with theme customizations if you're familiar with CSS and HTML.
Another option is to check out some of the third party gallery options in our App Center:

Can you please include the code needed to achieve descriptions UNDER each image in the Gallery so I could just copy and paste it into the main css file?
Could you also advise where in the code it should be pasted?

We don't provide assistance with custom HTML and CSS ourselves, though someone here in Community might be able to help. If you make a new topic and include your domain name that would probably help get it a little more visibility.
