when i enter a transaction amount and hit charge it only registers as cash. am notable to open charg

when i enter a transaction and hit charge it goes only to cash.  I am unable to open the credit card slot to process it as a credit card transaction

Only time I have had this happen is when I lost internet connection.  If the internet goes down then the credit card field is greyed out.
