my square stand and register is not charging or working

the stand isn't working and the ipad isn't charging.  I can not remove the pad from the stand to charge it seperately.  Is it the charger or the upgrade?

what version of iOS are you running on the iPad?  the latest update to iOS 11.2 should resolve Square stand issues introduced in iOS 11.
