intermittent trouble with software?

Subject: Intermittent problem with software
Questions or Feedback: This has been an intermittent but on-going problem for the past 2 months.
The software is updated (both Square an iPhone)
Bluetooth is on
Reader is identified and paired to the phone
Screen comes up showing "no sale" and "redeem rewards" is selected and no way to de-select "redeem rewards"
When I tap on the blue "Charge" field the keyboard will not pop up so I cannot enter a charge
I used the system successfully at about 11:15 AM today but then this glitch came up again at 1:30PM and I could not charge my client.
What can be done to fix this problem?

Hello @Dee2, it sounds like you landed on your Item Library for Point of Sale. 

 

If you wish to use the keypad to charge a customer a custom amount you can select the option from the in the bottom left corner of your screen. Tap the option that looks like a grid. 

 

Please let me know if you're still having trouble!

Hi Chad, Thanks for responding. I could not tap the grid in the bottom left because it was grayed out. I keep hitting it and nothing happened. Made me remember the definition of insanity.

This has been happening to my square much more than i would like and is a deterrent to use the square system?

I have to delete and down load it over and over this is not a good tool as it loses customers and is very frustrating.

THERE IS NO CUSTOMER HELP OR SERVICE! especially when needs some information how to? We are a charity and have repeatedly sent in inquiry but never got a direct response?  

Not every one is a tech savvy person and most of all when out in the open market one is trying to charge and some how unable to get it working and this happens so often so it feels like its not worth the hassel. Also taking out 0.30 cents of every $ donated is more of giving square a part of the donation ?
