iPad & Square App Losing Wireless Network Connection

Hello,

 

I have a 5th generation iPad running iOS 15.7 and Square POS version 6.0.2. The issue I'm experiencing relates to both the iPad and Square POS intermittently losing a wireless network connection. Note that the network drop only last for 1-2 minutes and then self restores. 

 

I've tried addressing this issue by updating and power cycling the iPad. Additionally, I've made sure the latest version of Square POS is running on the tablet as well. Finally, I have confirmed that there are no drops in network connectivity with other wireless devices.

 

The only remaining option I'm considering to apply is uninstalling Square POS and confirming if the iPad still loses a wireless connection and then reinstalling Square POS based on the results. Has anyone experienced a similar issue as described above and found a resolution in reinstalling Square POS? Or is there another solution that does not involve reinstalling the application?

I have an older building with THICK walls, my main WiFi Router is on the 2nd floor in my office.  I had the same problem as you have had so I connected a WiFi range extender closer to my Square Stands and have solved that issue.  As I move around the store my cell phones looses Wifi even though I have 4 Range Extenders connected.  You may want to see how strong your WiFi signal is at your Square Stands, or which WiFi band you are on.  I have found the 5G band is faster but does not go as far as the 2.4Ghz band.  Since I have so many range extenders using both 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands sometime my devices switch range extenders and drop the signal then pick the closer range extender.  It drops while verifying the device on the new range extender. This is not to big of an issue as I walk around since it usually deals with me shopping for items for the store and not dealing with taking a payment for Square.  i do have one area that even with all these range extenders is still hard for me to have a steady signal and my internet there is very slow or drops on the chrome book, and I refuse to get another extender for that 5 sqft, lol.
