If your Square website is experiencing a loss of clarity and sharpness when scrolling on both laptops and phones, there could be a few potential causes and solutions:

  1. Optimize Images: Large images can slow down page loading times and affect the clarity and sharpness of your website. Ensure that your images are optimized for web use, meaning they are compressed without sacrificing quality. You can use image editing software or online tools to optimize your images before uploading them to your Square website.

  2. Check for Browser Compatibility: Different web browsers may render websites differently, which could affect the clarity and sharpness of your Square website. Test your website on various browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge to see if the issue persists across different platforms. If you notice inconsistencies, you may need to adjust your website's CSS or layout to ensure compatibility across browsers.

  3. Update CSS Styles: Review your website's CSS styles to ensure they are optimized for smooth scrolling and rendering. Sometimes, certain CSS properties or animations can cause performance issues that result in a loss of clarity and sharpness when scrolling. Simplifying or optimizing your CSS styles can help improve the scrolling experience on your Square website.

  4. Reduce Parallax Effects: Parallax scrolling effects can add visual interest to your website, but they may also contribute to performance issues, especially on mobile devices. Consider reducing or removing parallax effects if they are causing a loss of clarity and sharpness when scrolling.

  5. Check for Overlays or Overlapping Elements: Sometimes, overlapping elements or overlays on your website can interfere with scrolling and affect clarity. Review your website layout to ensure that elements are properly spaced and not overlapping, especially on smaller screens.

  6. Test on Different Devices: Make sure to test your Square website on various devices, including laptops, desktops, tablets, and smartphones, to identify any specific issues related to screen size or device type.

If you are still having a difficulty then, I can help you out on it technically.....As I have solved similar issues before.

Hi Lauramcc,

Perhaps providing the URL to site would be beneficial to the members here to take a look.

The volunteer Community Members here are not the same as Tech or Customer Support but, there is quite a bit of experience here with Square's Apps and Hardware.

Just some guesses here - have you tried "unpublishing" your site and republishing it ?  Also, have you tried clearing your web browser's temp files, cache, history, etc. and then taking another look.  Additionally, sometimes testing or viewing your site using a different web browser is helpful - it may be fine with one browser and not with another.  Just some thoughts for now.

Please understand that if you continue to have the same issue and no one here has any ideas - then you may want to contact Tech Support for assistance.  This can be done through your Square Account Dashboard.
