Why am I getting a 404 error after I upgraded and then published?

I signed up with weebly without paying for a plan to see how I liked the page builder. After working on it for some time, I found I liked it enough. I then proceeded to answer the Pop up Message that asks you to choose a domain, so I created an available name, and clicked upgrade. I was taken to the payment plan menu, I purchased my plan. I then went to add a domain, and used the 12.00 credit offered for the 1 year free domain option WITH weebly, and then proceeded to publish the page. Now I and other people viewing the domain I purchased, www.lotnjewelry.com shows up as a 404 error page.

I need this to be fixed by tomorrow. If there is no solution, or if this issue continues, I will have to pull back my funds and cancel my subscription.

Thanks!

HI, to add and activate a domain means it will can take up to 14 business days for it to populate.  This is standard for a domain, it is not an instant process.

Hope This Helps!

Hi! Wow, that is a long time. Every source I've located, including old threads, say it ought to take 24-48 hours. I will wait that time frame at least! There should be a notation made public prior to purchasing plans, this would help businesses understand how to adjust their timing accordingly! Also, in this community board-world, are people able to get in touch with weebly/square staff, or is it only between members? I can't seem to find a direct link to contact weebly/square staff on the support page.

Thanks for your response!

HI, yes, this is a seller to seller board.  For an activation or if doing a complete transfer of a domain it can take up to 14 business days.  If you own your domain on a domain provider ex.GoDaddy then you adjust the DNS settings and give it a few hours and the domain is active.

You can contact Customer Support with this link.

You will get a few options to contact, click Call Us, a new browser window will open with phone number and customer code.

Hope This Helps!

I’m having this same issue! I am expecting a big restock at the end of the week and had no idea it would take up to 14 days. I purchased a domain with Google and decided to transfer the domain but it’s been a few hours and it’s still not working. I’m considering canceling the transfer but I’m worried that might not help and it’ll take just as long too.

HI, once a full transfer has been requested it can not be cancelled.

What many do not understand is that domain names do not need to be transferred out when purchased with a domain provider.  It can stay with the domain provider for the life of the business, only the DNS settings would need to be adjusted.

Hope This Helps!
