Hey @Rickstaxi!

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community 😊

If you’re using your Square Card to withdraw cash, the maximum amount which can be withdrawn at an ATM is $250 per transaction, $1,000 per day, $1,000 per week, $2,000 per month.

Take a look at this article for more information.

This is a major problem for me as well. This really needs addressed and asap. I don’t understand why the amount is so low. Enough business owners have complained, Square I think it’s time to do something about this!

Welcome to the Community, @AntiqueHustler

Completely understand the frustration with the limits on using the Square Card at the ATM. There are banking regulations and restrictions we have to comply with when it comes to the Square Card, so we aren't able to make any changes to them at the moment.

Thank you!

Can you site specifically *which* "banking regulations and restrictions" affect the ability to increase atm withdrawl limits?

This is very confusing because cashapp allows for at least double the monthly atm withdrawl amounts - which, amongst other things, makes this attempt to "pass the buck" seem very unlikely.

Hello, @bodmodshop - Stepping in for Kassi. Square has different banking regulations to abide by since we are a financial institution providing these services. There is not one specific regulation we can speak on behalf. Feel free to take a look at Square Checking Terms of Service for some information related to this.

Thank you.

Cool. Figured it would still be a vague "pass the buck" thing.

There's nothing in the FDIC about maximum ATM withdrawls, and other banks make exceptions all the time; so I assume that's why square makes y'all give the canned non-answer you do.

I'll also just keep assuming (most likely correctly) that it's 100% that square wants to make more interest off of holding our money for up to 2 extra weeks (less if we do the goofy 3-day transfers, yay) or make us to do the instant transfer to another bank once we hit the max so they can get paid yet another fee.

Unless a specific regulation barring it is cited.

Hey there, @joytotheworld

These are the limits when it comes to the Square Card and using it with an ATM:

The maximum you can spend using a Square Debit Card is

$10,000 per transaction

$25,000 per day

$50,000 per week

$150,000 per month.

Note: Daily limits reset at 5:01 p.m. PST (12:01am UTC), weekly limits reset on Sunday at 5:01 p.m. PST (12:01am UTC), and monthly limits reset at 5:01 p.m. (12:01am UTC) on the last day of each month.

If you’re using your Square Debit Card to withdraw cash, the maximum amount you can withdraw at an ATM is:

$500 - $3,000 per transaction

$1,000 - $3,000 per day

$1,000 - $7,000 per week

$2,000 - $10,000 per month

Unfortunately, these cannot be changed at any point.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

This has to be an issue for the vast majority of small businesses using square. This limits millions of businesses across the country. A search result shows that you now have a range of available limits but says nothing about what dictates who gets what limit or how to increase it.
