Tax settings not holding at point of sale

A number of artists where we are in beaufort, sc, have all been stuck with daily tax collection problems. We need help. My taxes are set in dashboard and apply to 2 locations same tax, should be adding tax to item sold and doesn’t work at whatever device is ringing the transaction. It’s set for adding tax each item. Plus has a custom amount allowed enabled nd is set for additive -saved everytime in both locations 1 dashboard. It’s right also in square app. Other business have had the same staggering problem. This is no joke for us small business that rely on accuracy of square reports to identify and collect these costs accurately- what is square doing to view and correct this?

@Lauralei ;

I am sorry to see that this problem has you here for the first time but let me welcome you to the sellers forum.

With Sales taxes the are a few areas to setup taxes on your dashboard.

1) In your Business Account Settings to set and create your local sales tax.

2) In your Items area to say which Tax if any are applied to that item.

1) The below picture shows the desktop of the setting in Account and Settings

here is a Link :  https://squareup.com/dashboard/business/manual-taxes

2) In each Item yu need to have the Tax enabled as indicated in the image below.

You can also export you Catalog and place "Y" in the column for taxes which is faster if ALL your items need sales tax.  Other wise you can export catagories that only need tax and Place the Y then upload your catalog with the Taxes as Y.
