Square Point of Sale has stopped on Square Register

We’re trying to use the new square register, but it keeps crashing giving the message “Square Point of Sale has stopped” with the option to open app again. 

Weve connected to both WiFi and Ethernet sbd jeep having the problem. I can’t get to settings to check for an update because it keeps crashing.

I’ve tried calling support but they keep hanging up when I get taken off hold. This is becoming a nightmare!
