Registers keep losing connection to kitchen printer

We have two registers in our restaurant.  One is an IPad in the latest square stand, the other is a Square Register.  We are running square for restaurants on both of them.  Throughout the workday for the last few weeks, we have to reboot the registers repeatedly to re-establish the connection to the kitchen printer which is connected to the network via ethernet cable.  The square register is on the other side of the wall to the kitchen, so I'm going to punch an ethernet connection out there to connect directly to the same switch the kitchen printer is plugged into.  That should 'cure' the connectivity issue with that register (taking it off wifi).  I'm looking for a solution to the IPad issue since there's no way reasonably to hook Apple trash via the square stand directly to an ethernet cable.  I'm paying $100/month for two registers that don't function correctly.  I'm not sure if this is more of a square issue, or IPad issue.  I was told by one person that it was an internet connectivity speed issue and almost laughed myself blind.  If anyone has experienced this issue and been lucky to resolve it, I'm all ears.

Hi @Chubbys - I'm sorry to hear that this issue with your kitchen printer has brought you to the Seller Community.

I suggest starting out with the troubleshooting steps for your printer type listed here. Since this issue is impacting both your Square Register and your Square Stand, it's likely that the issue is stemming from the printer itself or possibly the network your devices are on, as you mentioned. If this doesn't improve things, please reach out to Support directly by logging into your Square account and heading here for further assistance.

I hope this helps!

I had to call Star years ago because of the same issue and they did something with my router settings that gave the printer a dedicated connection. Haven't had the issue since. Star is great with tech support if that's who makes your printer.
