Register becoming laggy and slow to respond

I have noticed recently my registers have become slow ad laggy the being use.

there is a considerable time delay between pressing buttons ad the item registering, where as before its was instant there is ow between a 1-2 second delay, its making a real difference the its busy.

has anyone else noticed an issue with registers???
