LG G7 ThinQ Magstripe issues

Bought an LG G7 ThinQ at the end of last year, been using Square long before that. No issues before with card reader.  About 2 months ago, magstripe reader would no longer read a swipe. It recognized there was a reader plugged in, but would not display anything when a card was swiped. Had to key everything in. Thought reader was broken, ordered (paid for) new one. In meanwhile, I also obtained a (free) card reader from a business contact who happened to have an extra one. Hers does not work, and my brand new one out of the box also does not work. Same trouble. It knows that there is something plugged into the headphone jack, but it doesn't read any card. I have gone through every one of the Troubleshooting steps in article 5203. My phone is working fine otherwise (used the headphones not long ago for ear buds so I know it's not that). I have tried using it with the case off. It's not just one customer's card - I have tried to use it every time someone new comes in to the store and wants to charge something. Restarted phone, deleted & reinstalled app ... NOTHING. And I just posted online about this in addition to "Recommending Square" for my processing ... ironically the complaint post was right after the "please use Square!" post ... What gives??

Hi @chaffee - It doesn't look like the LG G7 ThinQ is on our Device Compatibility list. It's possible that they an untested device will work with Square products for a time, but we can't guarantee continued compatibility with newer updates to the app or updates to your device's operating system.
