Non Square hosted Website and Payment Links and Sales Tax collecting?

Okay, here's what I'm trying to do.

I have website hosted by Godaddy.

I want to embed a "payment button" on that website that has the option of collecting the sales taxes.

Currently, when I create the "payment button", it just collects a chosen dollar amount.

So if and when a customer uses their credit card to pay, it's just a dollar amount and it's not accounting for or distinguishing any portion for any Sales Taxes.

I don't sell "items", I sell services, so there isn't any "shipping" or "fulfillment" requirements.

It appears the "online store" is for Retailers selling items, etc.

Any way, is what I'm attempting to do even an option here?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Hello there @KTTT

To have Payment Links collect Sales Taxes you will have to set up Sales Tax in the Online Dashboard. Once that is completed your Payment Button will have taxes.

Thanks for the feedback.

Okay, so set that up. But here's what I'm actually trying to do.

I have a website hosted by Godaddy.

I don't want to "redirect" clients to a Square Online website.

I'd rather create an embedded payment button on my Godaddy website, that, when clients click the "buy" button, it pulls up a transaction form where clients enter their credit card info to purchase a Massage Package that has a set amount indicated, but when the clients buy the package, the Sales Tax will be added onto the receipt.

Kind of how the transactions look during checkout on the Point of Sale device, but a "pay button" on my website.

Is this an option?

Yes! The feature you might be looking for is called "Buy Now Buttons". You can learn more about them here.

I hope this information is helpful!

Hi again.

I'm still having issues.

I'm trying the "create a link" option, because I want to associate the link with a Godaddy embedded button option.

However, when I try to find the item I've created on the Square Online platform called "massage package" for a specified value...it's not visible.

It acts like I need to create an item, like, I have no items to associate with the link.

I have the item set to "visible" on the Square Online platform.

I don't want to create a link or button that requires me to select a recipient prior to creating the link.

I want it to be a link / button that is a "massage package" that clients can buy if they want to by pressing the button and entering in their credit card info.

Currently...I can create such a button no problem, but the new item it wants me to create won't have any sales tax option.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here. I'm feeling "dumb" in spite of the fact that usually things aren't this difficult for me to figure out with settings, etc.

I'm providing pics so you can see what things look like.

Okay...so...I FINALLY figured out how to get the Sales Taxes to show up for an "Item" link on my website.

I also figured out how to share some of my Point of Sale Services on the Square Online platform.

NEXT question / Issue.

When I have the "massage package" as an "item" it acts/looks/behaves like an item that needs to be "picked up".

Is there any way to create a payment link for a SERVICE package of massages? I don't want to treat it like a "Gift Card" because that's just a dollar amount applied towards services. Clients that buy packages are guaranteed a specific session per price at a better deal.

Clients would buy the package and redeem the purchase throughout a 6 month or 3 month (depending on the number of sessions per package.)

I'm not seeing that...yet.

Hey there @KTTT

At this time Services can only be booked. A piece of advice I could give you is to categorize it as a digital item as a workaround that way it would not require setting up a pickup for it.
