No customer name and "untracked team member" on transactions

We only use the plug-in swiper for the phones, at POS.

the transactions rarely show who the customer is, and always comes up with "untracked team member" so it's a guessing game as to which person took the sale in the field,  and from whom, here at the office.

 

Considering scrapping the use of your product because this is just useless.  WHY SO DIFFICULT????  paypal captures it all, why can't you?

 

If I'm doing something wrong, would like to know what it is.

You would need to log in as different Team Members to track which sales associate made the Sale.  Here is more about Team Members - get-started-with-employee-management 

 

As for tracking who you made the Sale to, this depends on How you are taking the Sale.  PayPal captures the Name of each person because you need to have PayPal to accept and Pay using PayPal with.  In Square you would either need to type in the person who is doing the purchase each time.  Most Credit Card Processing systems do not collect Purchasers Name and phone numbers and Email addresses unless businesses ask for this information.  I know with Square if you bought something using Square with Credit Card 1234 and entered this information Square has a Database of this which is used to populate a customers name in your files, if the customer never did this before you get the Unknown Customer.  

 

Now if you were doing an online Sale the person has to enter their name along with the Credit Card and other information so you can ship their item(s) to them.
