My customer was charged multiple times

Hi! My customer was trying to pay an invoice I sent. Every time she entered her card, it said wrong number. She re checked and tried couple more times, but still saying it was entered wrong. She looked at her bank account and there were three charges from square!  Has anyone had this happen?

Hi @Brookj, I’m sorry for the concern this caused you and your customer.

 

It sounds like your customer is seeing pending charges on her bank statement. Banks don’t share the exact reason a card is declined with Square, but it sounds like your customer entered some part of her card information incorrectly.

 

When a card is declined your customer may see a pending charge on their statement for each attempt that was declined. Any pending charges on your customer’s statement will automatically fall off after a few business days. 

 

If your customer has questions about her pending charges please ask her to contact her bank directly.
