My card reader stopped working. How do I fix it?

I have 3 card readers. 2of the older and 1 new one I bought with the chip reader. They have been working fine with my current phone for 2years . Now between one weekend and the next they do not work.

I did the trouble shooting and reinstalled the app but still no luck. Do you think it is the latest upgrade? Kind of doughtfull all 3readers fail over night. I have sent for a new one but I am afraid it will not work. Just in time for the busy season.

What model phone are you using?  Exacly what reader are you using? Magstrip reader, Chip Reader or Contactless reader.

Hi, I am using my Moto x pure. My mag strip readers have worked perfectly fine with it until last weekend. I have three mag readers 2older model and one new model I paid for in combination with my chip reader.  One weekend everything worked and 1week later  all three stopped working. 

It shows that the reader is connected but it will not read a card .it does not even say card not read.

Sorry to hear about the trouble @Wire_Artist! I checked our Device Compatibility site for you and the Moto X Pure Edition 2015 is not compatible with the contactless and chip card reader. I'm so sorry for the frustration. If you bought the reader from Square in the last 30 days you can return it here.

However, the magstripe reader and chip card reader are both compatible with this device. You can compare these readers here.

I recommend using the new model of magstripe reader you mentioned, and running through these troubleshooting steps when you have a chance. These should help you get back up and running!
