Modifier setting 'Customer can only select one modifier' as TRUE forces modifier during checkout
I have found that if the Modifier setting 'Customer can only select one modifier' is set to TRUE, in POS this forces this modifier during checkout as the user has to select one, and he can't select none. Is this by design? Surely, there's a way to restrict selection to a maximum of one modifier but also allowing no selection?
The problem above does not affect Invoices.

Hi @amjessey, thanks for your post! That's the expected behaviour for modifier when the option Customer can only select one modifier is checked at the moment.
If the customer does not want to select a modifier, there are two workarounds:
1. You can create another modifier called No customisation/No change. This way, customers can select that at checkout instead.
2. If you go into an item that the modifier is applied to, you can scroll down and click Customise.
Here, you can set the rule that the modifier isn't required, so customer can skip the selection, but they can only select a maximum of one (or other). You can also apply this configuration to other items that has the same modifier.

Hopefully this will help!

Hi @tranguyen Thank you for the information.
We are using Modifiers in Invoices to adjust the final price of an item. "The modifiers will not show on customer receipts" appears not to be working. I've just done a test transaction and on the receipt the modifier name and it's price are being displayed. This is the same on the pdf invoice (shared with the customer using a link). Could you please advise why this is?

Hi @amjessey, thanks for raising this! From testing this on my end, the Hide modifiers from customer looks to apply to receipts generated from payments processed through the Square Point of Sale app and not invoices at the moment. I haven't find any workaround for it right now but when I come across them, I'll be sure to follow up on this thread.

Hello @tranguyen
As I mentioned earlier in this post, we are using Modifiers in Invoices to adjust the final price of an item but we need to be able to have variable prices in each modifier. I think, currently, it only supports fixed prices and this means the ways in which a seller can use this functionality is severely limited.
I would like to make this post a feature request, please and I would appreciate it if you brought this to the attention of your developers.
Thanks

Hi @k_atie
I have noticed the same thing. Allowing the customer to select one option should be decoupled from it being required. When will the enhancement be made?
Thanks,
Muzibur

Just to clarify, when will the enhancement be made to creating/editing the modifier in the "Modifier" section. As of now I have to go into every single item (I have 100s of items) and set it up.
Thanks,
Muzibur
