I have assigned my items to categories (for example, all my shortbread cookies go in the "Shortbread Cookies" category), but when I run item sales reports, they're still being listed as "uncategorized". Anyone else having this problem? Or am I reading it wrong?
EDIT: Found it. When a product name or variation changes, historical sales reports list the old name instead of retroactively changing the item name. Apparently it's based on old transaction history and it's not possible to edit things. Discovered that after I had changed some item names to be consistent with the rest of the product list, historical reports listed the old item name, hence why it was showing up as uncategorized. Square, please fix this!
Hi @CHConfections,
Welcome to the Seller Community and thank you for taking the time to surface this reporting issue.
At this time, we aren't able to change the details of a payment once it's closed out and completed. That being said—I can definitely see how this can cause a headache for reviewing sales history. I'll be sure to share your experience with our Point of Sale team and point out why a more dynamic view is important for your business.
Please do keep in touch for updates and let us know if anything else comes up.

I am also having problems - we are trying to use virtual terminal and my items and categories show up when the item is set up or when you connect the category but there is no item description, item name, or category which makes reporting horrible.
