I have forgot my passcode. How do receive a new one or delete it all together ?

How can I remove my passcode if I can't remember it?

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community. 

 

If you're referring to your 4-digit owner passcode, you can view and edit it from Account and Settings in your Online Dashboard.

 

I hope this helps. In the future, to remove passcodes from the Square app:

 

  1. Tap the three horizontal lines to expose the navigation menu > Settings.
  2. Tap Passcodes.
  3. Turn Allow Team Passcode off.

You can find your passcode under Account & Settings in your Dashboard. You can also turn off the passcode requirement in your app by heading to More > Settings > Security > toggle Passcodes off.

The instructions to turn off the passcode isn't working.   I went to settings and there isn't an option for passcode.   I went to security and it ask for a passcode.   I don't have a passcode and don't know how to turn it off.

The passcode I know I originally sent wasn't working. Couldn't get into the security setting to turn it off, because it's asking for a passcode to get into the security setting. I clicked on the above link and was able to go into where you generate a new passcode or put yours in. I put my passcode in and it says, "Pass code already in use." 

So if it's already in use – Why isn't it letting me get in using that? This is very frustrating. Any way to force it to take one that it thinks is already in use?

Sorry to hear about the trouble here, @KimberlyWolfe. It might be worth checking if the passcode was assigned to another team member, or perhaps a second profile for yourself, in your dashboard here. Simply click on your, or your team members name to see if the passcode is assigned already. Please let us know how you go!

I am trying to figure out how to use my Square card reader but when I put the card reader in my phone, a screen comes up asking me to log in using a 4 digit code number. I don't recall getting a 4 digit code number when I first got my reader. Can someone please help me? I'm going to need this reader soon and I can't figure out how to use it. The instructions are so confusing.

Grab your passcode from the Account and Settings tab of the Dashboard. If one is not visible, assign yourself one just for the sake of bypassing the passcode screen in the app.

 

Hop over to the app to punch in your passcode, then go to  Settings > Passcodes to disable it. That way you wont be prompted to enter one going forward.

 

I merged you to this thread, as @isabelle's provides steps to assign yourself a passcode

  • I forget my passcode well actually I think they only showed it to me once and it happened so fast I didn't get to save it. Can someone please help me I put alot of time and soo much proud work I don't want my Merch line launch to be a flop
